This is a very nice primitive oil on panel which we believe to be late 19th century. The painting is of a church in Crockham, Cheshire. Fortunately the person we acquired this painting from has written the history of this painting on the label on the back.
Mr. Jeff Martin purchased the painting on Dec 8th 1976 and has written the following:-
The painting was brought from a house called 'Daresbury' in Atburn Road and the church is called 'Crockham''. Mr. Martin has also placed a newspaper article on the back that gives details about Lewis Carroll, his memorial window in the church at Daresbury, Cheshire and the fact that Lewis Carroll was born at Daresbury Parsonage in 1832. Please see scan for details.
This painting is signed T.F. Colston....?
The painting is in very good condition and comes in a good quality period frame which complements the painting.

Price: This is very hard to price and something I have come to love over the years. It has had alot of interest but when the time has come to sell I have found the thought difficult. Of course everything has it's price so if a price comes in that is appealing I would sell. So if you would like the piece just e-mail me (ihuppert5@aol.com) your best price. At the end of October 2011 I will consider all offers in and whether there is one that I would consider selling at.
