Just had a great day out at Holmes Hills Furniture at their showrooms in East Sussex, not far from Lewes.

To anyone visiting the UK Lewes & West Sussex is always worth a visit anyway for the antique shops and flea markets. Besides which the Bloomsbury's group Charleston Farmhouse is nearby as well as Virginia Woolf's Monk's House and Lee Miller/Roland Penrose's Sussex home). I thouroughly recommend combining any visit with a trip to The Holmes Hill Furniture Estate if you are after great furniture. What's more the estate boasts lots to do for all the family - a beautiful woodland walk, pottery studio and tea-room.

A truly unique experience when buying quality furniture.

They themselves say:

From personal experience, buying furniture online can be a bit of a nightmare. You know, ordering something from a seller who doesn't actually have somehing they say they do. Dropshipping I think is the term where a seller only orders it themselves once they have a order. That means it is out of the seller's control whether they can actually deliver. Can be a nightmare if your the customer! Indeed, dropshpping seems to be the curse of the internet. The beauty of Holmes Hill Furniture is you can go to their beautful estate and actually see the item you are buying. Simples.

What's more, the friendly staff actually know about the products and can help. It's a completely 'young sales assistant on their mobile looking at you with disbelieve when you require service' free zone type-thingy.

That's the way it should be done. And believe me such service is rare these days in the UK.

Can't recommend it enough. The furniture is beautiful and unbelievably priced.
