Well, what can you say about this film? You either love it or hate it. The surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor on 7 Decemer 1941 is a major event in US history and I suppose the powers-that-be in Hollywoodland thought who better than the big-thinking producer/director team of Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay to capture it? Whatever your view of the film I don't think that anyone can deny that the actual attack, which forms the middle act of the film's three hours (yes, 180 minutes!) is an amazing spectacle - it's almost worth the obscene $135 million budget.

I enjoyed the movie but I don't think anyone would argue that the characters are little more than cardboard cut-outs and the script leaves alot to be desired. A better movie could have been had simply by cutting down the running time.
