Book + CD
Jan Omdahl's The Swing Of Things: Twenty Years With a-ha was originally written in Norwegian and only sold in Norway and offered in English on A-Ha.com for a short time. This is that now rare English version. I think there were only ever 3,000 copies ever made.
With approximately 400 pages, it also includes lots of colour illustrations.
The CD features: 1. "Take on me" (demo) – 2. "Presenting Lily Mars" – 3. "Dot The I" – 4. "Days On End" – 5. "The Love Goodbye" – 6. "Monday Mouring" – 7. "Never Never" – 8. "Så blåser det på jorden" – 9. "Go To Sleep" – 10."Hunting High and Low" – 11."I've Been Losing You" – 12."The Swings Of Things" (demo).
I've had a few of these over the last few years though have now sold all the ones I had. I do try and look out for any copies though it's getting harder and harder to find. Not surprising really as they made so few. I think I know why: I've seen this with a few other artists. They make a deluxe copy of something (and if you're an a-ha fan it's essential reading), try and invariably succeed in making something that is a work of art and out of the confines of a 'normal' book, but such projects are expensive to manufacture. I mean really expensive.
So, understandably, they waver on the conservative side and do ltd copies because they're not sure there is a bigger market out there for them. The edition quickly sells out with the prohibitive costs of manufacture making a 2nd run unlikely, and what's left for those who missed it or baulked at the original price are copies from private owners who are tempted by the prices or 3rd party dealers who had the foresight to buy a few copies at the time of publication.
The ones I've had over the years I've got from ebay. A direct link is here
