David Bowie - Let's Dance Cassette. I think this is Bowie's biggest selling cassette of all time. Phil Collins territory. As such there has been a history of playback problems with this release. This particular one has been play tested & plays well. It's really an ilustration that all cassettes should be play tested imo.

David Bowie // Let's Dance Cassette, Album, Grey Cassette, Red Text (UK, 1983) Let's Dance, released in 1983, became one of the defining commercial successes of David Bowie’s career, combining polished production with a more accessible dance-pop direction that expanded his international audience considerably. The album arrived during a period when Bowie moved toward a brighter and more direct sound without completely abandoning the distinctive vocal and stylistic identity developed throughout the 1970s. Produced by Nile Rodgers, the record draws heavily on funk, rhythm-driven arrangements, and contemporary studio techniques associated with early-1980s mainstream pop production. The combination of Rodgers’ tightly controlled musical structure and Bowie’s theatrical performance style resulted in an album that balanced commercial immediacy with a strong visual and artistic identity. Songs such as Let's Dance, China Girl, and Modern Love helped establish the album as one of the major crossover releases of the decade, supported by heavy radio rotation and the rapidly growing influence of music television. The album became closely associated with the visual culture and production aesthetics of the early MTV era. This UK cassette variant featuring a grey shell with red text reflects the manufacturing differences commonly found across early-1980s prerecorded tape editions. Such variations in shell colour and on-body print are often used by collectors to distinguish between separate production runs and distribution periods. For cassette collectors, editions such as this preserve the physical design characteristics of one of Bowie’s most commercially dominant releases while reflecting the rapid expansion of cassette album formats during the period.
