Astonishing calendar with reproductions of paintings by Rosalind Lyons Hudson. She is a new artist to me and haven't been moved like this by an artist
for some time. The back cover (scanned below) gives you an idea of her work. It's just jaw-droppingly beautiful. Commissioned by the Shakespeare's Globe, her take on all things Shakespeare is visionary, ethereally atmospheric and yet strong, beautifully strong. She reminds me of Leonor Fini and I can't think of a higher compliment than that. She herself cites Renaissance, Tudor
and Jacobean portraiture as a significant influence.
