Description

David Sylvian's Blemish was released in May 2003 on his Samadhisound label. It was recorded in February–March 2003 at Samadhi Sound Studio in New Hampshire. The album represents a deeply personal work and marked a stylistic shift for Sylvian, moving towards ambient, experimental electronic, and avant-garde sounds.

The UK & US edition was issued as a CD album in a six-panel digipak. The album features eight tracks, including “Blemish,” “The Good Son,” and “A Fire in the Forest.” It includes contributions from Derek Bailey (guitar) and Christian Fennesz (electronics).

The cover artwork was created by Atsushi Fukui.

The album was later followed by a remix release, The Good Son vs. The Only Daughter, in 2005.
