Probaly the most important book ever on the work of Francis and yet these days seldom seen and when it does come on the market you need a small fortune just to get it. Wonderful book to get though; really wonderful.

I think of all the years I've collected books I haven't seen one that I have loved so much. A work of art in itself but, more importantly in this case, so invaluable as a reference point even today. No mean feat when you take into consideration that in came out in 1964.

The catalogue raisonne of Bacon’s paintings through 1964. Includes further documentation of abandoned and destroyed pictures as well as a selected artist biography and bibliography.

This rare book is still the most comprehensive publication on Francis Bacon’s work. Contains many colour tipped in plates.
