Nastassja Kinski was born on 24 January 1959 in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of actor Klaus Kinski. She grew up in Germany, beginning her acting career as a teenager in small film roles in the mid-1970s.
She appeared in early films such as To the Devil a Daughter (1976), Falsche Bewegung (1975), and Tatort - Reifezeugnis (1977). Kinski gained wider recognition with her role as Tess in Roman Polanski's Tess (1979), establishing her as a rising star in European cinema.
During the 1980s, Kinski appeared in notable films such as Cat People (1982), Paris, Texas (1984), One from the Heart (1982), Exposed (1983), The Moon in the Gutter (1983), and Unfaithfully Yours (1984). She married Ibrahim Moussa in 1984 and had two children before divorcing in 1992.
In the 1990s, Kinski appeared in European films such as In weiter Ferne, so nah! (1993) and Faraway, So Close! (1994). She also had a child with musician Quincy Jones. Other notable films include Crackerjack (1994), Terminal Velocity (1994), and The Lost Son (1999).
Kinski continued acting into the 2000s, with roles in La Femme Musketeer (2004), À ton image (2004), Liaisons dangereuses, Les (2003), Paradise Found (2003), All Around the Town (2002), and Beyond the City Limits (2001). She also appeared in An American Rhapsody (2001) and Town & Country (2001), demonstrating a sustained career across decades.
