With those trout pout lips, Rosanna Lauren Arquette is the prized fish of Hollywood the stars have all tried to hook but failed. Their bait has tempted her but she has quickly become a fish out of water in their company: Peter Gabriel, James Newton Howard and a recent reported romantic link to Paul McCartney still lamenting the collapse of his marriage to the fragrant Heather Mills are but a few of her well-known dalliances.
It's easy to see what they all see in Rosanna. She is Hollywood royalty who seems to have been around forever but that is mainly because she has (well since 1977 and her debut on TV in Having Babies II). She is almost as radiant as when she was in her prime and, what's more, there is a full 2 inches more of her fluffiness than her equally fluffy sister Patricia.
Rosanna is a hard worker. She has appeared in over 100 TV and film productions since her debut and up to 2008. And as well as being pretty she can also act. She has indeed had a lot of practice. She was a teenager when she appeared with Bette Davis in The Dark Secret of Harvest Home (probably the first time the world first knew about her). Highlight role for me in the earlier TV career of Rosanna is in James at 15 in 1977. And she still wasn't 20! (she was 18).
By her 21st birthday she had made her film debut: Gorp (1980). Though not quite hitting the peaks her prettiness and acting ability warranted, her work since could be described as 'steady'. Roles include: Baby It's You (1983), Fathers & Sons (1992), Silverado (1985), The Linguini Incident (1991), and New York Stories (1989).
Not only is Rosanna pretty and a good actress but she has the appreciation of the arts — hence her work in artistic independent films like After Hours (1985), Nobody's Fool (1986), and Desperately Seeking Susan (1985). For the latter good old Blighty recognised a good thing when it saw one and awarded her a British Academy Award.
Three years before that she was nominated for an Emmy for her work in The Executioner's Song, which also featured the menacingly hunky Tommy Lee Jones (1982) (TV).
It's a kind of shame that most of her work these days goes straight-to-DVD.
That said, Rosanna Arquette continues to work.
Since the late 2010s and through the 2020s, Rosanna Arquette has remained active in film, television, and documentary work, continuing to embrace independent projects and socially conscious storytelling. She has also become increasingly visible as an advocate for women's rights, industry reform, and mental health awareness, lending her voice to numerous interviews, panels, and campaigns.
Throughout the 2020s she has appeared in a range of features, streaming productions, and guest TV roles, showing no sign of slowing down creatively. Her presence on social media has allowed her to connect directly with fans, sharing thoughts on art, activism, and the Arquette family's long-standing creative legacy.
