I will get it up within 24 hours. A great pressing, a superb release. What makes it extra special is to get the DVD as well. AND John Cope to boot. Brilliant release. But the reissue on its own is awesome in that, imho, they haven't messed it up. It sounds like the first pressing, it really does. There is silence where there should be silence. It can be spellbinding to listen to after all these years, to discover again, but to state the bleedin' obvious if it is played on the right system. Heavyweight 180gm vinyl LP pressing including a DVD-Audio disc containing the album delivered as a 96kHz/24 bit LPCM stereo mix. Plus one bonus track. Digitally remastered edition of this 1988 album from the British outfit. This is a seminal album, as important to that generation as Bowie's Berlin trilogy was for the one previous. It's so experimental and yet so ethereal, beautiful and other-worldly; it takes you places beyond the here and now. Desire, for example, ebs and flows and takes you all over the place.

The recording process was quite unconventional. The band, led by singer Mark Hollis and producer Tim Friese-Greene, often worked in darkness to create the right mood. They recorded many hours of improvised performances, drawing on a variety of styles including jazz, ambient, classical, and dub. These long-form pieces were then meticulously edited and rearranged into the final tracks.

This method resulted in a minimalist yet sprawling body of work that remains captivating and influential to this day. The album’s creation was a
testament to the band’s commitment to artistic growth and innovation.
“John Cope” has always been a song that intrigued me. It just swishes along in James Marsh colours. It was originally released as the B-side of their single “I Believe in You” from the album Spirit of Eden in September 19881. The track is known for its atmospheric and experimental sound, of course characteristic of Talk Talk’s later work.
