Comprehensive Vaughan Oliver, Chris Biggs and v23 book selection. 2025: just added more This Rimy River books in stock with additional scans below. It's a big, big book. Awkward and cumbersome in size but beautiful to behold. Just got in a few of the 2005 reprint. Exactly the same size as the earlier edition.

Vaughan Oliver & v23 were the in house designer & company for 4AD. To David Sylvian fans Oliver worked on the Secrets of the Beehive album cover, poster, Trophies I and Trophies II among others!
When This Rimy River: Vaughan Oliver and Graphic Works 1988-94 first came out it was highly sought after and now commands hefty prices. Among its delights are the Sylvian contributions.
This reprint gives you the chance to purchase this beautiful bookif you missed first time around.
2025: added some low quality scans of the book to really give you an idea of it. The actual book itself is a 1000 times better. Currently just a few left.

The first definitive monograph of graphic designer Vaughan Oliver. Divided into thematic sections, the book is designed by Vaughan Oliver himself and combines a cool, carefully edited exposition of his intensely visual work with a seductive, and always surprising, demonstration of his approach.

The first official account of the iconic record label.
This Mortal Coil, Birthday Party, Bauhaus, Cocteau Twins, Pixies, Throwing Muses, Breeders, Dead Can Dance, Lisa Germano, Kristin Hersh, Belly, Red House Painters. Just a handful of the bands and artists who started out recording for 4AD, a record label founded by Ivo Watts-Russell and Peter Kent in 1979, a label which went on to be one of the most influential of the modern era.
Combining the unique tastes of Watts-Russell and the striking design aesthetic of Vaughan Oliver, 4AD records were recognisable by their look as much their sound.
