Adam Ant – Adam Ant Is The Blueblack Hussar In Marrying The Gunner's Daughter (CD, 2013)

Released in 2013, this was Adam Ant's long-awaited return to the recording studio, arriving eighteen years after his previous studio album, Wonderful. Issued on his own Blueblack Hussar label, the album marked a significant new chapter in the career of one of Britain's most distinctive and influential pop artists.

Blending rock, pop, post-punk and theatrical storytelling, the album reflects many of the qualities that made Adam Ant such a unique figure during the late 1970s and 1980s. Working alongside long-time collaborator Boz Boorer, the record combines new material with a highly individual artistic vision that remains unmistakably his own.

Featuring seventeen tracks, the album explores a wide range of themes, from personal reflections and social commentary to stories inspired by history, culture and Ant's own experiences. The result is an ambitious and often deeply personal collection that stands apart from much of his earlier work while retaining the adventurous spirit that has always defined his music.
