Copland – Appalachian Spring / The Tender Land / Billy The Kid is a beautifully presented classical compilation LP released in Europe in 1988 on the prestigious RCA Victor label as part of the Papillon Collection. Side B features the powerful and vividly cinematic Billy the Kid – Ballet Suite, one of Copland’s finest contributions to American ballet. The score is renowned for its dramatic contrasts: sweeping prairie landscapes, energetic dance rhythms, and the darker, tension-filled moments reflecting the outlaw’s life.
