This original 1984 UK 12” release by Dalis Car captures a unique moment in post-punk history, bringing together Mick Karn (Japan) and Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) in a short-lived but highly influential collaboration.
Released during a period when both artists were exploring darker, more experimental territory outside their main bands, The Judgement Is the Mirror stands as one of the project’s defining recordings—atmospheric, angular, and unmistakably stylised. The track reflects Karn’s distinctive fretless bass work layered with Murphy’s dramatic vocal delivery, creating a sound that sits between art rock, post-punk, and ambient experimentation.
