"Storm of Light" was one of Working Week’s early 12" singles, released shortly before their debut album Working Nights. The extended versions on this release highlight the band’s blend of UK jazz, Latin rhythms, and early dance-floor sensibilities. Featuring notable British jazz musicians such as Harry Beckett and Julie Tippetts, the record captures the emerging London jazz-dance scene of the mid-1980s. The “Monsoon Version” and instrumental mix were popular among club DJs for their atmospheric arrangements and strong percussion grooves.
