The idea is to scan every Frida Kahlo book. I have started off with the German/French ones but it is only a start so any help would be gratefully appreciated. If you have any scans why not e-mail me (ihuppert5@aol.com) me them here and I'll put them up. Or, if you prefer, you can send me your unwanted books and magazines and I can scan them. I think the problem any Frida Kahlo book publisher has when designing a cover is the wording they put over a part of the artwork. I mean, her art is so striking (The Broken Column for example) that words are really not needed or dilute the power of the image. Obviously, they think they have to put something so the reader knows what the book is about but do they really? Can't they place the book title on the spine and let the artwork speak for itself? If I see a book cover with a Frida Kahlo painting on it and nothing else then I'm immediately drawn to its alchemy, its magic, its power. Words, big words, just get in the way. What words, for goodness sake, can there possibly be to describe Henry Ford Hospital?
